About This Project
As part of my digital photography courses during my MFA in Graphic Design program, I was tasked with staging and shooting a product shoot of some kind. The summer prior to this course I had designed, crafted, and laid out the Quick-Start Guide to Freshwater Fishing--a project I am immensely proud of. As part of that project's design, I illustrated several species of fish using Adobe Illustrator. Soon after I realized those illustrations would make for excellent magnets or stickers, or even images to go on t-shirts. So I had some printed into small stickers and I was very happy with the results!
So when it came time to shoot a product of some kind, I decided I would focus (pun totally intended) on these stickers. I went to a nearby river and set up some stones on the shoreline to get a more natural look to get the mood right. Later that day I also set up a simple studio in my home's dining room to try out some different backdrops using wood boards and placemats to see if I could achieve different results. Overall I am happy with how these came out and love the balance between stickers and nature in each shot.
You can find the Quick-Start Guide to Freshwater Fishing project either on my Behance or here on my portfolio website.
