About The Macallan Feature
During the Summer and Fall of 2024 I had the immense privilege to work as a Graphic Design Intern for The Contour of Luxury, a groundbreaking and exciting digital luxury magazine that continuously pushes the envelope in creativity and exuberance. Under the tutelage and guidance of the magazine's founder and editor-in-chief, Alexis Day, I found every day my internship filled with new experiences, education, and creation. With Alexis' guidance, I grew tremendously as not just a designer but as a person as well. I couldn't have asked for a better experience!
This six-page, three-spread feature present The Macallan's Time : Space Collection celebrating the venerated company's 200-year anniversary as part of the Fall / Winter 2024 issue of The Contour of Luxury. I was given the privilege to create this article and showcase a portion of the whiskey collection's grandeur. I tackled this article after working on another beverage company's, so I wanted to be sure that they didn't follow the exact same look and feel. Thankfully, The Macallan made it pretty easy to come up with a theme for their feature, as the futuristic design of their whiskey collection provided an exciting motif to work with. Using a combination of Photoshop and InDesign, I adapted the images provided to TCL to create these layouts. You will also notice two large black rectangles on the first and third spreads. These are actually video and slideshow frames, respectively. When you view the feature article in the digital magazine, linked below, you will see a video on the first spread created by The Macallan, and a slideshow of additional photos that didn't make it into the article spreads themselves.
