Bass & Strats Vector T-Shirt Design
This illustration came about as an idea I had for my dad as a birthday present. Both he and I are avid fishermen, targeting fish such as largemouth and smallmouth bass, muskies, and northern pike to name a few. My dad is also a musician who has been playing Fender Strats his entire life. One day the phrase “Bass and Strats” popped into my head and I immediately knew I needed to create a design for a t-shirt and sticker for him with the concept of mixing two of his favorite things.
After some initial sketches I jumped into Adobe Illustrator to flesh out this idea. I developed each element on its own and worked on placing them together inside of a splash of water until I found the look I wanted. Once the design was complete, I went to Sticker Mule to have a t-shirt and 10 vinyl stickers printed for him. When his birthday finally rolled around, I was so happy when I saw his eyes light up with what I had created for him. That reaction alone was worth all the effort!
